In our first keynote of the summit, TV Tech Editor in Chief Tom Butts will talk with Chris Pfaff, CEO, Chris Pfaff Tech Media LLC, a New York-area advisory firm, president of the VR/AR Association and a past chairman of the PGA New Media Council East, about the potential impact that the metaverse will have on broadcast and media production. The topic will be one of the main themes of the upcoming NAB Show and we'll break down what it is, how it can advance media production, and how our industry will meet consumer expectations.

Keynote | Where is Broadcast Going in 2023?

In our second keynote of the summit, TV Tech Senior Content Producer George Winslow will talk with Ian MacSpadden, CTO for Arizona Public Media. Ian has an extensive background in IT, production, business operations and engineering for broadcast. He is a member of the SMPTE Board of Editors and a past presenter with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. We'll discuss how when at Arizona PBS he helped navigate the first PBS station to ATSC 3 and in particular the partnership with the Phoenix Model Market for NextGen TV—and today what he is doing to help Arizona Public Media adopt IT and cloud for broadcast as he works to migrate those stations to NextgenTV broadcasting. He will also discuss what trends he is looking for at the 2023 NAB Show.
